The Marshall Fire burned through Boulder County on December 30, 2021 & quickly became the most destructive fire in Colorado’s history, burning over 1,000 homes and businesses in Marshall, Superior, Louisville and unincorporated Boulder. 5280 Magazine’s July 2022 issue covered this topic two-fold: Staff writer Robert Sanchez told the stories of the Marshall Fire survivors in a compelling and heart-wrenching narrative. The feature by editor-in-chief Lindsey B. King was a poignant look at what Marshall Fire survivors learned, and what other Coloradoans should know about fire preparedness.
